RELEVAMIENTO DE LA CARGA HORARIA DE LAS ACTIVIDADES Y DESGASTE PROFESIONAL DE LOS RESIDENTES DE CLÍNICA MÉDICA

ASSESSMENT OF ACTIVITY WORKLOAD AND BURNOUT IN CLINICAL MEDICINE RESIDENTS

Resumen

Con los objetivos de cuantificar las horas de trabajo y descanso, e investigar el desgaste profesional de los médicos durante el programa de residencia de clínica médica, se realizó un estudio multicéntrico, observacional, descriptivo y transversal en 2011, que tuvo 348 respondedores. Se pudo concluir que más de la mitad de los jóvenes profesionales en formación sufren agotamiento emocional y dificultades en la realización personal. La carga laboral junto con la insuficiente supervisión y remuneración podrían explicar esta situación, que los responsables de los programas de residencia deben tener en cuenta.

Abstract
With the goals of quantifying the hours of work and rest, and to assess the professional burnout of clinicians during the medical clinic residency program, a multicenter, observational, descriptive and cross-sectional study was performed in 2011. There were 348 respondents. We concluded that more than half of the young professionals in training suffer from emotional exhaustion and difficulties in personal fulfillment. Excessive workload, insufficient supervision and low pay could account for this situation, which should be considered by supervisors of residency programs.
